I sometimes can't get what chatters are talking about at all even if their each word is easy

ひとつひとつの単語が簡単でも、何のことを話しているのか全くわからない時があります

wax には「（・・・に）なる」という意味があるんですね。

I always feel sorry to ask the meaning of their joking because it is joykilling ^^;

彼らが何のことを話しているのか数分間は全くわかりませんでした
チャッタ―が冗談を言った時、意味を尋ねるのはいつも申し訳ない気分になります。興醒めにしてしまいそうで^^;

it kinda happened by accdent , then there was the distance thing
so played it by ear
then i ended up going to work in japan

That was a new phrase for me.
I had no idea what he meant at first :D

play by ear
= Initially, this referred to the playing of music without reference to printed notation. More recently it is also used figuratively to mean 'handle a situation in an impromptu manner', i.e. without reference to pre-determined rules or guidelines. (helped by Sayings and Phrases)


初めて聞く表現だったので、最初は意味が分からず戸惑いました。
